Amazon is seeking an IT Manager to support the Fulfillment Center (FC) in New Castle Delaware. Amazon is one of the most recognizable brand names in the world and we distribute millions of products each year to our loyal customers throughout the world. The FC IT team provides support of IT hardware, software, and systems in an on-site and on-call capacity for the Amazon FCs. The successful FC IT Manager will be responsible for utilizing his/her skills to provide assistance to the operations team in resolving technical problems within the Fulfillment Center that cover a multitude of technical disciplines. . Successful candidates will have: At least two years of experience in at least one of the following disciplines: Linux/Unix Systems Administration, Windows Server Administration, Networking, Telecom, Help Desk/Technical Support, or Data Cabling/Computer Facilities. Flexibility and customer service focus as well as a demonstrable technical aptitude and a willingness to learn new skills are keys to being successful at this position. Candidate must have demonstrable leadership skills in a production environment. The FC IT manger will coordinate training, manage resources, and direct the efforts of a small staff across three locations. These efforts include coordination of trouble tickets, project distribution, scheduling of technicians work week, meeting with customers and upper operations management and representing the FC in team and availability meetings. As the leader of the team, the candidate must also ensure that trouble tickets are properly documented, ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met, and manage the FC IT crew; including, but not limited to scheduling for the work week, ensuring all SOPs and procedures are followed for inventory checkout, battery maintenance and proper inventories of IT related equipment. Candidate must be forward thinking with a high degree of customer service focus and excellent communication skills. This is extremely critical to bridging the communication lines between FC IT and Operations. . IT Managers must have a good understanding of computers (both hardware and software) and a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology.He/She must possess: Superior technical aptitude, written and oral communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with people. Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability. Demonstrated experience as a leader with either previous direct reports or management of a team in a project management role. Ability to manage projects from concept to execution and have experience managing to a tight budget. Proven ability to operate in extremely high pressure situations and successfully handle multiple priorities and possess a high level of discipline while remaining flexible. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or technical discipline from an accredited college or university.Technical Qualifications:Linux/Unix System Support Window Server/desktop/laptop System Support Networking knowledgeHelp Desk / Technical support experience Data Cabling / Computer Facilities knowledge Ability to support/troubleshoot Linux, Windows, TCP/IP, telnet, web browsers, and PC applications.
