IT Support I
Due to University of the Rockies' success with its leading-edge educational format, the position of IT Support I Technician has been become available. We are looking for an experienced IT Support I who will be responsible for testing, configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing of all University of the Rockies computers, phones, laptops, and related peripherals. This position will be an integral part of the Corporate IT Department and will apply knowledge and an experienced background to the development of the organization.

Located in Colorado Springs, CO and reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Support I Technician will have regular interaction with the IT and additional departments for University of the Rockies and its subsidiaries.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

- Install, receive, configure, maintain and repair all computer hardware and related peripherals
- Provide troubleshooting of IT services and components
- Provide outstanding and professional customer service
- Ensure incidents, problems, and changes are completed and documented for each transaction within agreed Service Level Targets and Agreements
- Communicate with customers ensuing efforts
- Distribute, install maintain, manage and provide guidance on all networked and standalone PC software
- Maintain audio/visual equipment and support conference room operation
- Consult with faculty and management at all levels with regard to software usage and availability
- Provides recommendations to staff and faculty regarding their personal computer needs.
- Coordinate and implement procedures for gathering and maintaining hardware and software inventory data as established by the IT Procurement Department
- Conduct telephone and fax machine installations.
- Interface with faculty and all levels of management on software license issues
- Perform software audits to assure compliance with Bridgepoint Education policy, State and Federal Information Protection laws, and Federal Copyright Law
- Configure, test and integrate new hardware
- Instruct end users on hardware and software applications
- Design, develop, and deploy computer images used to standardize corporate computer systems and install software
- Coordinate the purchasing of parts needed for repair with the IT Procurement Department
- Perform duties as assigned by the IT Manager for Tier 2 Support
- Assist in process improvement initiatives
- Assist external auditors, regulatory auditors and other 3rd parties as needed
- Assist other IT functional groups when needed
- Assist in company-wide compliance initiatives
- Perform related duties as assigned by management
- Attend meetings and events where necessary and appropriate

Requirements:

- A+, MCP, MCDST, MCITP, ITIL or other platform general or operating systems specific certification highly desirable
- Knowledge in the use of network troubleshooting tools, such as toning devices is highly desirable

Qualifications:

- Prior experience (number of years based on educational level as described above) supporting a diverse computer environment
- Prior experience in a fast-paced business environment with responsibility for projects from implementation to maintenance
- Thorough working knowledge of computer hardware, software and associated operating systems is required
- Understanding of LAN operations and specific procedures to confirm or troubleshoot network connectivity
- Significant experience with computer based and networked hardware and software systems
- Ability to prioritize time-critical activities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong, positive customer service experience a MUST
- Self starter, ability to work on complex technical issues with minimal supervision
- Ability to interface with other employees at all levels and with differing degrees of computer expertise
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting, excellent analytical problem solving; understand and follow technical directions
- Must be able to research and effect suitable solutions on complex computer support issues

Education:

Candidate must have one of the following:
- Bachelors degree (or within 3 courses of completion) with emphasis in information systems, computer science or related field and 2 years experience
- Associates Degree or Technical Certification (A+, MCP …) and 4 years experience
- Six years experience
